When reflecting on the term and meaning of Nature, I am interested in exploring the shifting terrain between optical and visionary sight; that which melds outer reality with inner consciousness. My practice as a painter is one which embraces both the method and material in relation to ritual, wherein the physical action is a means by which the otherwise invisible is reconstructed combing mind and matter into an optical (tangible) presence. By reacting to the present my paintings translate my experience in the world into a phenomenological expression.
